Originally from Florence, in Italy, Matilde is a portraiture and street photographer graduated from London College of Communication in BA Photography in July 2022.
Her practice is inspired by observing spaces, close relationships with people and by the adventure of walking.
‘The process of taking a walk became fundamental in my practice.
Walking with a camera in my hand is my primary adventure, the opportunity to walk slower, to stop and to focus and appreciate details of the surrounding world, artificial and natural.
The possibility to give an interpretation of real surroundings, capturing images that are the shadow of reality.The time to observe everyday changes, enabled me to embrace and appreciate the inevitable, natural changes in my own life.
Photography, to me, it is about the constant awarness of how to arrange and frame elements that have yet to be seen, it is about the excitement of not knowing what the result will be’.
Currently working as Photography teaching assistant at Colfe’s school in London, Matilde has a variety of skills and professional experience which push her to always look for new jobs and opportunities.
